Autosylum Custom Order Terms:
Effective Date: 05/01/2025
At Autosylum, custom means custom.
Every commissioned piece—whether it’s an engine table, display hood, or crankshaft end table—is built one at a time, by hand, to spec.
These terms outline what to expect when you place a custom order with us.
1. Submission & Review Process
To initiate a custom commission, you must fill out our Work With Us Form.
This form helps us understand your vision, timeline, and budget. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.
We review each request for feasibility, materials, scope, and shop availability. If approved, we’ll follow up to confirm pricing and next steps.
2. Deposits & Payment Terms
A non-refundable deposit is required to begin any custom build. This secures your materials, production slot, and consultation time.
Standard Terms:
50% deposit to initiate the project
Remaining 50% due prior to shipping
Exact terms may vary depending on project size and complexity.
3. Design Consultation
Once your deposit is received, you’ll have a 1-on-1 consultation to finalize:
Materials
Dimensions
Finishes
Special features or branding
We’ll provide mockups or sketches if needed. Minor changes can be made before fabrication begins.
After production starts, changes may not be possible and could incur additional costs.
4. Build Timeline
Each piece is built by hand, not mass-produced. Timelines vary based on:
Project complexity
Material availability
Current production queue
We’ll provide an estimated timeline during the consultation.
While we strive for accuracy, delays due to supply chain issues or design revisions may occur. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
5. Ownership & Usage Rights
You own the physical item you’ve commissioned—but Autosylum retains the rights to:
Photograph and document the build
Share the piece on our site or social media
Reference the commission in our portfolio or marketing
If you'd like your piece kept private or unshared, just let us know in advance.
6. Final Delivery
All custom commissions are hand-delivered by Autosylum (within the continental U.S.) to ensure safe arrival and proper placement.
Delivery terms, dates, and fees will be discussed during the consultation.
Autosylum is not liable for damage caused by improper use, modification, or third-party transportation after delivery.
7. Returns & Cancellations
Because each piece is built to your specifications, all custom orders are final sale.
Deposits are non-refundable
No returns or exchanges after delivery
If you cancel after production has begun, additional charges may apply for work completed
